Adult Autism Assessments
Resources and Workshops for professionals

Providing warmth, safety, and understanding for those exploring their neurotype.

Esther is a psychologist who has been supporting neurodivergent populations for the past ten years.

Esther assesses adults 18+ for Autism via Telehealth, through a neurodiversity affirmative and trauma informed lens. She is passionate about creating a space that is welcoming of all identities, and views the assessment process as a collaborative exploration of an individual's life narrative.

She believes that warm, trusting relationships are integral to good health and wellbeing, and feels privileged to be able to develop connections with clients and describe their life journeys.

Her work is influenced by the neurodiversity affirmative movement, Circle of Security principles, and ACT. She welcomes members of the LGBTQIA+ community and enjoys supporting a diverse range of clients, using flexible, adaptive, and evidence based research to inform her assessments.

Outside of assessments, Esther is employed as a casual academic at La Trobe University, working in the autism research space. She facilitates trainings for professionals relating to autism and ADHD, and also provides therapeutic services in private practice, but unfortunately does not currently have capacity for new clients.

Through her work with children and families, she has seen a common pattern of adults realising their children are neurodivergent, then going on to realise they too present with autistic and/or ADHD characteristics. She's particularly interested in supporting these individuals in understanding their neurology to be able to work with their brain rather than against it.

When she's not working, you can find Esther in her garden, going for a walk, or curled up with a good book and a coffee.

Assessment Process

1. Autism Assessment with comprehensive report

An autism assessment consists of 1 x 3 hour session via Telehealth. You will be asked to complete some questionnaires prior to the session.  During the session, you will be asked a series of questions - clients have described it as just feeling like a conversation - relating to your history and presentation.

A report will be sent to you 6-8 weeks after your assessment.

The fee for this service is $1650.

2. Brief Autism Assessment with letter and no report

As above (option 1), but rather than receiving a follow up report, you will receive a brief letter along with recommendations.

This option is for those who do not require a report and would like a more cost effective way to gain clarity on their neurotype.

The fee for this service is $1100.

Please note - I no longer offer ADHD assessments.

In your Autism assessment, I can provide my opinion as to whether further follow up regarding ADHD is indicated. If follow up is necessary, I will direct you to seek a GP referral for a psychiatrist to complete this assessment.
